CASMA University

In 2007 CASMA launched the airline industry’s premier educational course study with four courses designed to assist carriers in educating new or existing employees more in depth on topics including: Introduction to Airline Distribution, Introduction to Reporting and Settlement, Introduction to Revenue Management and Introduction to Airline Data. Over the last two years hundreds of individuals attending CASMA's bi-annual conferences have had the opportunity to further educate themselves in these all important area’s of airline distribution and revenue management.

New this year, CASMA continued to expand its course offering by adding Advanced Courses on Revenue Management and Airline Data. And debuting this Fall at our conference in Las Vegas, NV October 25-28, 2009 will be our new course on Revenue Integrity.

I. CASMA University Introductory Courses:

CASMA University - 101 Introduction to Airline Distribution
Introduction to Airline Distribution. For those new to the industry, new to airline sales and marketing or simply wanting a refresher this fast paced presentation will cover the basics including: who are the players, what is distribution, what are the channels, who are the stakeholders, and much, much more. Introduction to Airline Distribution is updated with the latest facts and figures.

CASMA University - 101 Introduction to Airline Reporting and Settlement
This CASMA U course will demystify how travel agencies report airline transactions and the settlement processes that govern airlines, travel agencies and other parties involved with the purchase and refunding of airline travel. Join us for an in-depth look at the intricacies of reporting and settlement, developments on the horizon and ways that groups around the world interact in this process.

CASMA University - 101 Introduction to Airline Data
Continuing the CASMA U educational series with a look at Airline Data. What are the industry data sources? What data is available? How is it formatted? What is the frequency? These and many other questions will be addressed in this 2 hour presentation on Airline Data. This advanced course on Airline Data is for those industry veterans interested in learning more in-depth analysis and benchmarking techniques. The "101" course is a foundation and introduction to the numerous products and types of data available to airlines today. This advanced course provides attendees with the background on why it is critical to airlines to understand and utilize Airline Data. While the basic Airline Data course focuses on the "what" this advanced course challenges the attendees with the "why". Attendees will leave empowered to ask the right questions when planning a robust data strategy for their airline. Also included are the current trends and next things to look for in Business Intelligence that will impact Airlines in the years to come.
